A Letter to My Patients

Hi Everyone:

I am writing all of you to let you know that I have to have some surgery in early June. I have been followed for a number of years for a leaky mitral valve in my heart. Recently, there has been some change and it is time to fix it. I have an excellent surgeon and everything will go just fine. I will be home recovering for 4 to 6 weeks, so this is why I am letting you know.

During this time the hygienists will be working and my assistant, Denise, will be available to see emergencies. I will be able to review x-rays, treatment notes and we will schedule work for my return. My colleague, Dr Caye, will be available for consultation on any additional situation that may arise on a daily basis.

I appreciate your understanding and patience throughout this period and know that your dental needs, as always, will be our top priority. I am feeling well now but they tell me I’ll have a lot more energy after this procedure. Heaven knows I will be well rested and looking forward to returning better than ever.

Sincerely, Dr Erickson
