Professional Teeth Whitening

Whitening is the quickest, easiest and most inexpensive way to improve your overall smile. We offer both at-home and in-office whitening procedures.

How does tooth whitening work and how long does it last?

Professional whitening gels microscopically penetrate the enamel breaking up stain and discoloration caused by:

  • Darkly pigmented foods
  • The natural aging process
  • Tobacco use
  • Tea, soda, coffee and wine

Therefore, during home whitening it is imperative to avoid staining foods and beverages.

Teeth will need to be maintained with home treatment according to how shade regresses over time. Each case is different and may need 1 to 2 days of home application after a professional dental cleaning.

At-Home Teeth Whitening

For patients who prefer to whiten their teeth at home we offer a special whitening gel solution. This whitening product is placed in custom made trays that are worn for up to 30 minutes twice a day or as directed. Treatment is 2-3 weeks depending on initial shade. Results and treatment duration can vary from patient to patient, as well as some reversible sensitivity. Sensitivity can be managed using prescription strength fluoride toothpaste provided for you.

In-Office Teeth Whitening

Our in-office tooth whitening procedure is equivalent to 2 weeks of home whitening and can be done in as little as 2 hours. The process begins with impressions for custom trays for future touch-up maintenance. We then begin the procedure by applying a barrier to cover lips and gum tissue, leaving only the teeth, to be whitened, exposed. The dental professional applies a concentrated gel activated by a special light. The whitening gel is removed and reapplied several times during the procedure. If needed or desired, initially darker teeth can continue being whitened at home with gel and instructions we provide to you.
